Punjab government takes civil service exam every year to appoint people on government posts in Punjab government offices. This exam is conducted by Punjab Civil service Commission (PPSC). The candidates need to clear prelims exam to be eligible for the MAINS competitive examination.
The prelims consist of two papers i.e. General studies and Civil service Aptitude Test (CSAT). Each paper carries 200 marks, which means 400 marks in total. This paper literally targets to check out not only the knowledge of the candidate, but also the aptitude and the analytical intelligence level.
Note: A very important thing to keep in mind is that there is negative marking in the prelims exam. 1/3rd of the allotted marks are deducted for every wrong answer. So, the candidate must not make the mistake of guessing the answers.
As this is the first stage of the exam, it just aims to take the candidate to the next level. However, the prelims score is not undertaken for final merit result.
